I am afraid this is not going to work as you would need a 9 speed specific chain set such as the Sora.

You can change your current Tiagra Compact chainset to a 52/36T double with no modifications but I would recommend fine tuning the gears again.

Compatibility with Pinnacle bike

Hi would this fit the 2015 Pinnacle Arkose 2 if I removed one of the chainrings to keep it a 1x? If so, which bottom bracket would you recommend? Thanks

Hello there. Before you remove one of the rings, DON`T!. The chainrings are not single ring specific and you`ll find that the teeth will have profiles to them which allow the chain to shift easily between chainrings. Removing a chainring will only make the chain fail off constantly. The best advice is to select a chainset that is single ring specific. You will notice that these chainsets will have teeth that aren`t profiled and will have narrow-wide chainrings too.
